peer to peer problem

I have been trying to trouble shoot a peer to peer network where one computer is not able to be accessed and in the hope of finding the problem I used this program. Unfortunately it seems to tell me data is sometimes coming through but no computers do anything with it. I think the program has told me I need to learn more about ethernet. A daunting task.

ethersnoop Vista non-functional

Hello

I downloaded and tried your program and I cannot get it to function on Vista
I get limited functions from erwins ip tools so at least one sniffer works somewhat. I installed Wincap latest v. but could not install ndis.

My goal for a sniffer would be to replace the traffic logging interface of Sygate which was bought out by Norton I would like to click tray or quick launch and check hostname ip logging so I can tell if someone is breaking into my computer.

I just got attacked and now my Avast is contacting Esset NOD32 instead of Avast
Esset was little help and blamed Avast. I get attacked often by cybercriminals Bank of America, Ameriquest, Deutsche bank etc. they attack our web site up to 200 times per hour

It would be really cool if sniffer could detect attacks and dropped packets and flash or change colors in the tray. I really need to sniffer to keep a log and run in background with little resources. Sygate was fantastic and the rotten Norton bought them out and want you to use their resource hog firewall instead.

Thanks for your work I wish I had time and talent to make my own sniffer, glad people like you do what you do. I'll see what I can do to get it to work under Vista with evdo usb interface.

Program is OK, but not what I was looking for

I was looking for a program to diagram a network, not monitor traffic. I don't recall where I downloaded it from, or what the link was, but I think the description may have been a bit misleading, or I may have been half asleep......
Anyways, the program does everything it is supposed to, I was just a little misunderstood when I got it.

did not work

I installed EtherNnoop, spent about an hour trying to get it to work, and when I couldn't get it to do anything at all I uninstalled it. The windows help that comes with the program was incomplete and did not help.
